David's practice focuses on the representation of emerging companies and venture capital funds.
Prior to joining Thompson Hine, David worked in the software and Internet industry for four years as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Bluespring Software, Inc. and ePALS.com, Inc., respectively. Prior to that, he practiced law in Cincinnati, Ohio and Boulder, Colorado.
David's unique background is reflected in the active and creative assistance he provides his clients during their formation, financing, growth and exit. He combines corporate, securities, compensation and intellectual property legal expertise with a practical understanding of an emerging company's business needs. His real-world understanding of the business, financial and legal issues facing entrepreneurs and venture capital investors allows him to efficiently drive, facilitate and close transactions - whether employment agreements, license agreements, supplier contracts, investment transactions or M&A deals.
David is a frequent speaker on venture capital, entrepreneurship and mergers & acquisitions and is quite active in the region. David creates value for his clients not only through his technical expertise but through his relationships and contacts.
